Budget 2026: Government Confirms 28 October Date

Chancellor sets out plans for stability

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, John Healey, has confirmed that the 2026 Budget will take place on 28 October 2026.

Announcing the date, the Chancellor said the Budget would aim to “move money and power out of Westminster, and into every postcode around Britain”.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to meeting its fiscal rules, while highlighting the importance of providing businesses and families with greater stability and certainty when planning for the future.

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) will publish its latest economic and fiscal forecast alongside the Budget. The forecast will provide an updated assessment of the economy and the impact of the government’s financial plans.

We will continue to monitor the announcements and provide updates and analysis on the key Budget measures, particularly those affecting businesses, individuals and taxpayers.

If you have questions about how existing or proposed tax changes could affect you or your business, please get in touch with our team. We will be happy to discuss your circumstances and explain the potential implications.
